During the last summer Facebook moved to a new headquarters and this comes as no surprise, having in mind the ongoing success the site is seeing. The new premises of Facebook in Palo Alto, California had been used for a high technology laboratory and the structure allows bringing together 700 employees, who were previously scattered throughout 10 locations.
Architectural approach to the design of the space relied heavily on input from the users, appropriate for a flatly structured company that weights every employee’s opinion equally. The space is very modern and dynamic, just what you’d expect from a company like Facebook.
A lot of walls and spaces are left unfinished since employees are encouraged to express themself and to create artwork of their own, the furniture is also allowed to be moved around as needed and the spaces to evolve continuously.
