Thousands of books from all subjects you can imagine! El Ateneo is the largest bookstore in South America. As you can see, it’s an unique and wonderful place for book lover’s, where one can browse for hours. It is located inside a theater Grand Splendid on Santa Fé Ave, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. After a vast restoration cost AR$3 million, the theater was reopened as El Ateneo Bookstore.
You should take time to explore this place! El Ateneo’s features 120,000 book titles. Also there is a CD section where you can find a wide selection of tango, classical, jazz and popular music from around the world. Also you can enjoy your book at bookstore’ café that offers exclusive rich desserts, European- and Argentina-style lunches including baguette sandwiches, spinach salads and more.
