Forest Tower

In the vicinity of the village Putten, Netherlands, about 50km east of Amsterdam, is located a new lookout tower. Designed by Amsterdam-based office SeArch, Forest Tower is nearly 40 metres high and its concept is considered as “path with each facet of the promenade looking out over the forest”.

The design includes various activities including a climbing net and even a small performance space. The tower has a steel construction and a staircase that winds around it. The architects installed “a new piece of the forest” at the top of the tower – a circular platform planted with trees which weighs 480 tons and took 36 hours to lift to height of 40m.
