If you’re a fan of Old World European architecture

About 400 km from Manila is the city of Vigan. It is a well-preserved Spanish colonial town in Asia, complete with cobblestone streets and a design that fuses European colonial architecture with Asian designs creating one charming and unique atmosphere. The name Vigan was derived from “Biga”, a giant taro plant that grows abundantly along the banks of the Mestizo River.

Storey Hall, Melbourne

Storey Hall is  a public art gallery located in Melbourne, Australia. It is part of the  campus of the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.Storey Hall  is considered to be Melbourne’s most vibrant art space with a constantly changing exhibition program of architecture, craft, contemporary art, design, fashion, and fine art.It also houses the smaller RMIT First Site Gallery, which is operated by the RMIT Union, and has a focus on new media.

Vulcania, European Park of Volcanism

Hans Hollein’s Vulcania in France – a science museum dedicated to the study of geology and volcanoes – also creates a potent system of vertical movement, though the designers intention is more explicit.An ‘architecture parlante’ leads the vistors on an imaginary journey to the center of the earth.This largely underground museum, built with local volcanic rock and red jura stone, is announced by a 372 meters high bifurcated entry cone.

Floating House, Ontario, Canada

The house is part of a series of simple structures used as holiday homes on a remote island which is situated 4 hours north of  Toronto and is accessed solely by boat. A pedestrian walkway links the houses together and creates a path across this natural landform.the design of the house creates a link between both sides of the island across the water, and is protected from changes in water levels generated by passing boats.

US Bancorp Tower

US Bancorp Tower is a identifying landmark that stands tall in the Portland skyline.
As the 2 nd tallest skyscraper in townspeople, with 1.1 cardinal sq. feet of role area, she literally holds several of Oregon’s most prominent businesses within her walls. Also notable as Big Pink, this monumental structure stands 43-stories stately, and spans 2 city blocks. The most unique features of the pillar are its form and grace.
