Storey Hall, Melbourne
Storey Hall is a public art gallery located in Melbourne, Australia. It is part of the campus of the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.Storey Hall is considered to be Melbourne’s most vibrant art space with a constantly changing exhibition program of architecture, craft, contemporary art, design, fashion, and fine art.It also houses the smaller RMIT First Site Gallery, which is operated by the RMIT Union, and has a focus on new media.
The complex geometry of the fenestration is carried through the buiilding, finding sensual counterpoint where they meet with sloping stairwells and tapered columns.The result is a series of iconoclastic spaces uniquely hospitable to the work of mathematics in the digital age.
