Skiing in Axamer Lizum

This romantic Olympic village is located at an altitude of 878m on a wide and sunny terrace above Innsbruck. Axamer Lizum is gradually being linked up with the Gotzens/Mutters ski areas to make a good sized ski region with varied ski terrain. This was a major centre for the Innsbruck Olympics of 1964 and 1976. Holidays in Axams -Axamer Lizum, mean holidays in a winter wonderland. The popular ski resort of Axams is surrounded by majestic, luxuriant forests and peaceful meadows, which are perfect for family or romantic strolls. Winter in the mountains of Tyrol, Austria and tremendous slopes are reason enough to come here to ski.

With a multitude of long red runs and a good snow record, Axamer Lizum ski area is an undisputed paradise for intermediates. With skiing above 2000 metres, snow cover is generally reliable. The area also offers an excellent progression from the nursery runs, and is well suited to the needs of a school group. The 10 Ski Lifts of Axamer Lizum are able to uplift 12,000 skiers / snowboarders per hour.

Axamer Lizum has some really authentic ski huts for daytime dining and one highly impressive modern restaurant. Also Bars, lessons and rentals, gift shops, sport shops, banks, library, post office, petrol station, and a discotheque. There are and two night clubs – Alte Muhle , and the Disco Beiler.
