Twenty Five Lusk

Opened in the middle of October, 2010, Twenty Five Lusk is a multi-level restaurant in San Francisco’s SOMA district. This is a contemporary American restaurant located in a historic warehouse originally constructed in 1917. Architect Cass Calder Smith left much of the original vintage brick and timber but tricked it out with modern elements.

Twenty Five Lusk features massive windows, exposed brick, smoked mirrors, suspended fireplaces, tropical wood veneers, glassed in kitchen, and a chefs table. The old timber and exposed duct work are as much a part of the design as the contemporary furnishings within. Twenty Five Lusk is carefully lit to provide a warm, open environment that is more about socializing than it is about intimacy.

Twenty Five Lusk restaurant serves up New American cuisine. Restaurateurs Chad Bourdon and Matthew Dolan offer “sophisticated, contemporary, approachable fine dining specializing in neoclassical-influenced cuisine”, which probably means locally inspired California cuisine. The menu: fried oysters with a padron pepper bisque, roast quail with ginger-carrot puree, seared Maine scallops with a warm lemon vinaigrette, blackberry profiteroles with orange sauce.
