Palazzina Grassi Hotel
Palazzina Grassi is set in the heart of historic Venice on Canal Grande, near the Saint Mark’s Square. All of Venice’s main museums and art galleries are within a short walking distance to the hotel. Palazzina Grassi is housed in a 16th century building converted from a Venetian aristocratic home to become an hotel. Privacy, luxury and elegance are the fundaments of Palazzina Grassi.
The conversion project was created for Design Hotels brand and was realized by French designer Philippe Starck. It is his first foray into Italy and although there are plenty of modern, playful touches, he used lots of local materials, too. The romantic design is best show the marriage of ancient and contemporary, especially the F Suite with its wood beams, sloping roof and spectacular views of Venice. Throughout the hotel visitors will find valuable books, antique pieces, mahogany and unique artworks.
In surface of 2,800 sq m the hotel offers 26 luxurious guestrooms features traditional terrazzo floors, marble and mirrored glass tables, Venetian plaster walls in reds and greens, transparent glass wardrobes, and a rain-head shower. You’ll find handmade Murano glass and mirrors. Actually the mirrors are everywhere. There are about 298 on site, so you better like looking at yourself. Free Wi-Fi is provided in the whole building.
