Fujiya Inn

Fujiya Inn is located near Tokyo in the Yamagata Perfecture, Japan. Its architect is one of the elite Japanese architects – Kengo Kuma. The Inn is designed around a minimalist theme, which can be seen in the clean lines of the rooms, open floor plans, and the handmade Japanese paper that can be found on almost every wall. Kuma is committed both to Nature and Asian traditions, prefers natural materials and archaic shapes.

Wood and light play the major roles in the renovated 350-year-old Fujiya Inn. It is a place to relax and unwind and forget the stresses of day-to-living. There are only 8 rooms – giving the hotel a total capacity of 16 guests. This retreat is located in the heart of the Ginzan hot springs area. The inn has five beautiful private hot springs baths including an open-air bath on the top floor that are believed to have a healing effect on the body.

Prices: from $472 per night
