Green architecture – Hilton de Bariloche

The Portuguese group IMOCOM presented its latest project in Argentina. As eco-friendly, largely based on the way the hotel blends into its surrounds. The hotel will demand a 120 million USD investment and is expected to be open in 2013. The eye-shaped building was designed by Argentinean architect Mario Roberto Alvarez. The eco hotel project is thought to be vital for the development of tourism in the Argentina area.

Musala Peak

Standing at 2,925 m, Musala is the highest peak in the entire Balkan Peninsula. The name derives from “Mus Allah” (“the mountain of Allah”), being so named during the period when Bulgaria was part of the Islamic Ottoman Empire.  Located within the Rila National Park, Musala is the highest peak in Eastern Europe. Rila is probably the most visited mountain for guided hiking tours and also by individuals to its more gentle slopes compared to Pirin mountains. With an average annual temperature of -3 °C Musala is the coldest place in Bulgaria and snow cover lasts for about 200 days (more than 6,5 months). There is a major ski area located near by and there are several huts located on its slopes. The area also boasts an Alpine meteorological observatory and an Ecological observatory. The average number of Musala’s visitors exceeds 50,000 people annually. To climb the Musala peak is an extraordinary mountain experience, enjoyment in divine beauty of impressive massif.
