Longitude 131° – a deluxe camping experience like no other
This award-winning luxury wilderness camp consists of 15 tents in a wide arc surrounding Ayers Rock. Designed by Cox Richardson and completed in 2002, Longitude 131 is set atop an isolated sand dune close to the border of the Uluru – Kata Tjuta National Park. The resort combines the breathtaking beauty of the Australian desert with luxury in the form of the unique and lavish tents, a contemporary model of African luxury safari tents.
At Longitude 131 you will find unprecedented solitude and serenity. No expense has been spared in ensuring your stay with Longitude 131. The first of its kind in Australia this is a truly personal and unique way to experience the sights, sounds and scents of the desert, interact with ancient Aboriginal culture and marvel at the ever-changing beauty of Uluru.
Your luxurious tent is a private place to rest, relax and refresh. Fifteen tents cater to a maximum of 30 guests at any one time. The tents are more luxury cabins draped in flowing white fabric than the canvas crash-pads the word suggests. Each tent has a balcony with floor-to-ceiling sliding-glass doors for a panoramic view of the rock from the king-size bed. Each is named after a prominent regional, and the walls are adorned with relevant memorabilia (cuttings, letters, sketches, etc).
