Minimundus Park is open in 1958 and covers area of 2.6 hectares and around 140 miniature models of the worlds most popular sights and also boats and trains, that run between the models. Each year, on 3rd weekend in September (18 and 19 September 2010), hundreds of public and private buildings, seats of government and other noteworthy sites (customarily closed or only partially open to the public) are open exceptionally for this occasion. During these 2 days one can get to visit all the official institutions, from embassies to government ministries and even offices. In Paris, you can visit The Elysee Palace (the official residence of the French president), the Senat (the upper house of the French parliament), certain ministries and embassies, city halls, the backstage of theatres, hospitals, villas and more. Visits to public heritage sites are free, private sites often charge a reduced fee.

Located between Lausanne and Montreux, Lavaux consists of terraces on steep slopes all the way down to Lake Geneva, covering an area of 800 hectares of vineyards, which make Lavaux the largest wine-producing area in Switzerland. The vineyards are not only a plentiful gift of nature but are also testament to centuries of backbreaking human toil. The winemaking tradition here dates back to the 12th century. Many of the vineyards have been owned by the same families for generations.
