Over the years leading jazz critics from renowned media has visited Copenhagen Jazz Festival and recognized it as a major musical event worldwide. This 10-day event focusses on the Jazz like no other jazz festival. The number of concerts and performances have reached 850 in recent years. Every year in the first half of July, Copenhagen expects more than a quarter of a million visitors at this major annual event, no matter what the weather in Denmark may be like. The Copenhagen Jazz Festival was founded in 1979 and takes place every summer for ten days, in early to mid July.
