Georgetown Lake is an excellent spot to get into snow kiting and to rip up Montana‘s famous powder. There is a 600 foot high hill across the lake for up and downhill playing. There are also lots of other places to kite within a short distance of the lodges. During the winter the snow kiting is fantastic. Snow falls every other day refreshing the powder on the lake. Wind is regular and averages 15-20. The season is usually from Thanksgiving to Easter.

Orewa Beach is a big wide sandy beach in New Zealand ideal for kite surfing and other windy sports. The beach is very crowded in January, but other months are fine. Avoid it on a saturday during summer and during the week the whole place is yours. If you are there to kite, don’t in the shallow water. Move out the back away from any swimmers and never kite between the two flags on the beach, it is a swimmers only zone.
