Unwind at Amanjena

Aman‘s chain of resorts have garnered a formidable reputation around the world and rightly so. Amanjena, the company’s flagship North African resort, is a perfect example of their smooth and sure approach. A palatial estate set on the outskirts of Morocco‘s ”Pink City”, the hotel was designed by American architect Ed Tuttle and melds mellifluously with its surroundings, combining Moorish architectural influences, such as the expansive arches that line the main building, with subtle Asia undertones. Passing through the grand entrance, the visitor enters an otherworld of terra-cotta villas and ocher pavilions separated by thin reflective rivers and splendidly manicured lawns. Each pavilion boasts a private courtyard complete with gazebo and fountain, and eight of the pavilions have their own swimming pool. The interiors are huge and imaginative: curbing walls vie with bathrooms carved from green Moroccan marble and feature deep-soak tubs for your attention. Should you want extra privacy, try one of the mansions, two-story town houses that include fireplace, guest bedrooms, and personal butler service, plus a private 270-square-foot pool and garden. Amanjena also offers success to a 110-foot pool and a health and beauty center with hammams, a spa, and a gym. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served in the Thai Restaurant, either indoors or in a garden courtyard next to the pool, and a Moroccan restaurant offers a la carte traditional food in the evenings.Visiting golfers will enjoy the fact that resort is next door to two courses.
