The place of the Great Noise – Augrabies Falls National Park

It is the place where the Orange River cascades down the 60 m in a spectacular waterfall and then continues its path through an 18 km abyss of the Orange River Gorge. The sight and sound of the power of the water will not be easily forgotten. Located in the Cape Province, South Africa, “Augrabies” actually means the place of the Great Noise.

Chocolate Museum, Barcelona

The Chocolate Museum is a “delicious” museum in Barcelona, Spain. The museum has been built on the initiative of the Barcelona Confectionery Guild and is located in the very centre of the town. The museum exhibits a large collection of intricately carved sculptures made out of chocolate along with examples of traditional machinery that was formerly used to make chocolate during the past years. There are also activities and visits organized every week (high season only) inside the museum.

Vancouver Winter

The 2010 Winter Olympics run from Feb. 12 to 28 in the Canadian city of Vancouver and the winter sports resort of Whistler. The biggest sports forum for this year starts on Friday and Vancouver gets ready. The most serious problem is the high temperatures and lack of snow.

The Venetian Carnival – edition 2010

The traditional Carnival of Venice was discovered on Saturday evening with a horse parade and play “Servant of two masters” performed by the street artists to San Marco Square. The Venetian Carnival held for centuries and will continue for ten days – from the 6th to the February 16th.  The period of the carnival is one of the most important events of the year. The program includes masked balls and theatrical productions. However, tourists will be tempted by competing carnivals in Rome and Viareggio.
