Pygmy marmosets

The Pygmy marmosets are the smallest living monkeys in the world. They inhabit the rainforests in Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia and Brazil. Adults are about 13 cm long with a 20 cm tail and weigh is in the range 85-140 grams. They are small, squirrel-like, and monogamous. Its tawny coat is sprinkled with gray and its tail is ringed. Long hairs on its head and cheeks form a mane which hides its ears. Its eyes are almond-shaped.
