Camp at Hopfensee
A campsite unlike any other, this vast peaceful complex sits next to the beautiful lake Hopfen, Germany. The lake is considered one of the warmest in the Bavarian Allgau region and is ideal for swimming, fishing and nonmotorized water sports. The picturesque town of Fussen is 3 miles away.

In the exclusive grounds of the five-star campsite you can escape the throng, whiling away your time in the spa – a place that patients visit to be cured of their ailments. The pure air and the relaxation alone are often enough. Based upon holistic medicine therapies developed by Kneipp, a native of the area, the registered physiotherapy practice on the campsite offers a selection of treatments for many common ailments.

These must be booked in advance – up to three months for summer visits. However for guests who simply need relaxation, the spa, situated in the centre of the campsite, also offers massages, bath and beauty treatments, a sauna, and a solarium.

The campsite, with its heated indoor swimming pool, is open all year, and in winter, it includes a 38-mile cross-country skiing trail direct from the site, with skis, toboggans, and bicycles for rent. The spacious campsite spots are for trailers or motor homes (tents are not allowed – despite the name). If you don’t wish to self-cater, there is an airy glass-roofed restaurant that serves superb food.
