Sail Croatia’s Coast
There are more than a thousand islands scattered off Croatia‘s Adriatic coast, creating between them a coastline that stretches to 3,600 miles in length. For nautical enthusiasts, this archipelago is heaven-spent. There are numerous yacht-charter companies along the coast that rent out vessels, whether you are after a bareboat charter or luxury yacht with crew. The waters are blue, the weather is gentle. Above all, though, it is the diversity that keeps the sailors happy. Some islands are long established on the tourist trail. You might stop in Silba, which has restaurants and stores but no roads, ensuring back-to-nature tranquility, or Pasman, whose many white sand coves attract those in need to rest. Many like to visit the Kornati Islands, an archipelago of 147 different islands, islets and reefs that together make up a national park. There you will find traditional fishing villages and quiet bays. Between the islands winds a labyrinth of marine passages: Local legend has it that the islands were created when God had fished making the world and, finding some materials left over and simply through them into the sea.
