The Assumption Cathedral is the principal Roman Catholic church of Thailand , located in the Bang Rak district of Bangkok . It is the main church of the Archdiocese of Bangkok. ?he cathedral was completed in 1821, in the reign of King Rama II. Assumption Cathedral is open everyday and visitors can enter the main chapel.

During World War II in 1942 , buildings and Christian community around it were destroyed by bombing.

The cathedral consists of a tall rectangular structure with a red brick exterior, set apart from the surrounding white buildings. The church is quite bright inside due to the large number of windows. The roof is highly decorated.

The Cathedral is part of a complex with the Assumption Convent, Catholic Mission of Bangk??.
