A Space Dedicated To Snowboarders And Free Skiers
Mountain Greek, a New Jersey ski area about 50 miles from Manhattan became one of the biggest terrain parks in the Eastern United States, a space devoted to snowboarding and free skiing. Today the area has a cultural makeover that reflected a younger, adventure sports theme. Mountain Creek is trying to segregate its sizable free-riding, free-skiing population from conventional skiers and young families. Those riding or free skiing were attracted to the new terrain-park elements on the mountain. There are mostly snowboarding group of people, and the dress and attitude matched the redesign of the lodge, which now featured loud music, walls filled with brightly lighted flat-screen panels and an unstructured, graffiti-inspired color scheme.
