Parkrand housing complex, Amsterdam

The parkrand apartment complex comprises five towers connected to one another by the ground floor and upper two floors. Hollowed out of this block are three large holes: two overlooking the park and one the forecourt car park. The parkrand apartment complex brings together some of the biggest talents in Dutch design: architecture firm MVRDV, graphic designers THONIK and product designer RICHARD HUTTEN.
Kitchen – surrounding two wooden dining tables in the kitchen are Nutten’s polyethylene ZZZIDT stools.

Living room – two large chandeliers are suspended above the room.
Children’s room – a troupe of small elephants features blown-up versions of a toy animal Hutten picked up on the floor of Richard Hutten’s son’s bedroom at home.

Graphic Design – adorning the wall next to the entrance to each of the five towers is one of five giant letters: V,W,X,Y,Z. THE WORK OF AMSTERDAM – BASED GRAPHIC DESIGNER thonik.
