Pribilof Islands

Named after a Russian navigator who visited in the 1780s, this group of four volcanic islands (five if you count Sea Lion Rock) in the Bering Sea is 320 km north of Unalaska Island in the Aleutians and the same distance south of Cape Newenham on the mainland. Linked Hybrid Complex, China

This Linked Hybrid complex sited adjacent to the city of old city wall of Beijing. The Linked Hybrid is also called an ”open city within a city” project. The huge structure linked together 750 apartments, a public green space, commercial zones, a hotel, a cinema, a kinder garden, Montessori school and an underground parking. The buildings on the ground, under the ground and over the ground are fused together.

The Stob’s Pyramids

The Stob Pyramids are located near the village of  Stob,  in the western approaches of the Rila Mountain, next to the Rila Monastery, Bulgaria.  These are stone andearth formations, 30-40 m deep. The sediments are colored rusty-brown,  reddish and dark yellow and, because of their location, the pyramids are especially beautiful at sunset or at moonlight. Many of the formations are crowned with rock “hats” – large stone blocks sizing 120 by 80 cm.

Siesta Key

Siesta Key is an eight-mile-long, crescent-shaped barrier island on the Gulf Coast south of Sarasota. The island is more popular during the summer months, where tourists discover sugar -white sand, cool gulf breezes, clear turquoise water and huge disaccounts on accommodations from July to September.

I present you a twentieth-century rural hotel in Felgueiras, Portugal. The hotel is located on 24-acres of farmland which are primarily used as vineyards, and had existing sixteenth-century buildings. The notion was to revive the old structure, so the hotel was designed to complement and enhance the characteristics of the existing structures — and provide space and amenities for up to 22 guests and an outdoor swimming pool.

Howick Falls

Near the town of Howick, 24kms north of Pietermaritzburg, the Umgeni river plunges 300ft over the Howick Falls. According to local legend, Inkanyamba which is a giant serpent-like creature resides in the pool at the bottom of the falls.
