Bozhentsi

The village of Bozhentsi is an Architecture and Ethnographic Reserve, situated at a distance of 28 km west of Tryavna along the road to Dryanovo, and -16 km from the town of Gabrovo (Bulgaria).
The village is more than 600 years old and nowadays it is an architectural reserve. According to the legend, Bozhentsi was founded by survivors of the fall of Tarnovo, led by the noblewoman Bozhena and her nine sons.

The village grew because an important road,crossing the Balkan Range,passed through it. There is pretty two-storey houses with stone roofs and wooden verandas build in the typical style of the Bulgarian Revival period.

The St. Elija Church are almost 200 years old!

The village offers a perfect opportunity for relaxation in houses of Bulgarian national revival with taverns, cafes and ancient workshops.
