The capital city of Switzerland is one the most impressive examples of medieval town architecture in Europe. It offers to its visitors an incredible variety of cultural amenities – sandstone buildings, impressive historical towers, various museums and magnificent street fountains. Since 1983 its perfectly preserved medieval street plan has been recognized as a UNESCO Cultural World Heritage Site.

The places of interest in Bern: the House of Parliament, which doors are open to the public with visitors permitted to watch the live proceedings of the parliament; the Prison Tower, The Historical Museum, the Bern Museum of Fine Arts, The Einstein House and many others.

Only a few minutes’ walk from the city center will take you to tree-lined embankments surrounded by nature – Aare River. The Aare attracts people of all ages. The hills all around, and the steep banks of the river, are still liberally wooded. Views, both of the Old Town’s clustered roofs and of the majestic Alps on the horizon, are breathtaking.
