Tallinn, Estonia

Tallinn_Estonia

One of Europe’s oldest cities, founded in 1154, Tallinn has remained remarkably unchanged for the past 600 years. The capital of Estonia is small city – one of the most enchanting cities in Europe with tourist areas easily explored on foot. Tallinn is a blend of modern city filled with boutiques, sports centers, hotels, restaurants, cafes, nightclubs and medieval turrets and narrow, cobbled streets set beneath of 14th century churches. In 1997 UNESCO inscribes Tallinn on World Heritage List.

The spirit of the 14th and 15th centuries survives intact in central Tallinn judiciously restored and fascinating to explore. For a look into the past with most popular history attractions in Tallinn’s Old town: Town Hall Square with the onion-domed 1900 cathedral, Rocca al Mare Open Air Museum’s typical rural Estonian taverns, windmills and watermills, Town Hall pharmacy, Toompea castle, Kadriorg palace, Toomkirik and Oleviste churchs, St. Olav’s spire which was once the tallest in the world.
