Underwater photography – the sea’s slugs

We are introducing you with natural most exotic animals – the sea slugs. With over 3000 known species, it is a wonder more people have not heard of them. Nudibranchs as all other gastropods, they are slow moving bottom dwellers. They have soft bodies and most of them lack an external protective shell. With fantastic coloration, they deserve to be called gems of the sea and should inspire jewelry designers.

Chromodoris coi – it’s a species of very colorful sea slug, in the family Chromodorididae, well-known throughout the tropical western Pacific.

Glaucus atlanticus is a species of blue sea slug in the family Glaucidae.

Limacia cockerelli reaches length of 26 mm and can be found in two forms. It has long dorsal papillae with the branchial plume causing it to be mistaken for an aeolid.

Dirona albolineata are beautiful translucent white nudibranch reaches up to 5 to 6cm long. Found on rocky shores near low-tide lines and ranges from the cold waters of Alaska to southern California.
