Restaurant “Hospitalis”, Latvia
This is one of the most eccentric restaurants in the world, themed as a hospital. And of course, its name is “Hospitalis”. Located in Riga, the capital of Latvia, the restaurant looks like a medicine cabinet. Here the guests will be served by the waitresses in a nurse’s uniforms with red wigs and stethoscopes around their necks. Also they will be escorted through the restaurant in straightjackets and wheelchairs.
The place is product of the brainchild of three local doctors. The unique design of the restaurant is clinical white and full of medical equipment. Your table could be a trolley or a gynecological consultation bed…
The menu is more extensive offers dishes from traditional European cuisine to the local specialties. “Hospitalis” provides diners with various surgical utensils such as syringes, tweezers and scalpels, instead of forks and knives. The bar is as old pharmacy and the drinks are served in flasks. For your information, the meal with some kind of alcohol drink costs around 15 Lats (€19/$27) at the restaurant.
