Mesa Verde National Park is a United States’ Park located in Colorado. It covers 52 000 acres of sandstone canyons. Native Americans built their homes into the sides of cliffs, and now there are find over 4 000 archeological sites and more than 600 cliff dwellings. The culture represented at Mesa Verde reflects more than 700 years of
history.

These stone dwellings were built by the Anasazi between 500-1276. 1300 people lived in communities throughout the area. The archeological sites found in Mesa Verde are some of the most notable and best preserved in the
United States. There are a number of varieties of ancient homes the range in complexity from simple pits in the ground to the famous rocky cliff-side communities.
