A real gem- The Young Islind
Young Island Resort is a 5 Star luxury hideaway on a thirty-five acre island. Young Island is a delightful private resort just off the coast of St. Vincent and close by to the capital of Kingstown. The island itself looks a little like the very top of a mountain just popping its head above the water. An island where fruits, flowers, birds and fish abound.
The resort has tropical architecture, adding to the “island” experience. On the beach, where white sand eases gently into the Caribbean, there are chaise lounges and mattresses for sunbathers. Yachts and colorful power boats float nearby in a protected channel.
The resort has 29 cottage style accommodations, including 6 suites.All guests have their own private cabana, spread from the beach to the shaded pool and up the hill. All of the cottages are differently decorated, showing a different facet of the airy, Caribbean style. Services: Ceiling fan, fridge, beverage maker (in some), hair dryer, safe, no phone.
Facilities: A lovely tree-lined swimming pool, a small spa, tennis courts, and some basic water craft are available to guests.
Water skiing and scuba diving can be arranged for an extra charge.
Just off shore is The Coconut Bar, where drinks are served in fresh coconuts before the swim back to shore.
Breakfast offers such delights as flaming rum French Toast and outstanding cheese omelets.
