Sugarloaf Mountain -Brazil

600 million years ago mother nature’s geologic hand formed a princely natural wonder, Pao de Acucar or Sugar Loaf. Sugarloaf Mountain  is a peak situated in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil,from the mouth of Guanabara Bay on a peninsula that sticks out into the Atlantic Ocean. The Mountain is a 1,292-foot-high granite block that towers over the surroundings and marks the entrance of the Bay of Guanabara.

The mountain itself is the largest of several granite monolithic morros that tower over this stretch of coast. Visitors can see excellent views of Rio de Janeiro from the top of the mountain and sunsets.

Visitors to the top of the mountain, although more adventurous travelers may choose to make the steep climb on foot.
