Delicious Vienna

Today, a new generation updating the Vienna's traditionally formal dining scene with casual restaurants from inside museums to cheese shops and even bookstores. Osterreicher in MAK (Museum of Applied Arts) offers menu of newly Viennese cuisine.

In MAK – tender, slightly spicy sliced beef in a deeply aromatic light broth, surrounded by celery, parsnips, carots accompainied by small bowls of apple-horseradish, fried patatoes and sour cream with chives.

Steirereck Meierie – a colourful cheese shop.

Meierei means dairy and the shop sells 120 varieties of cheese from 13 countries.

The restaurant ''Dining Room''is a real private home. Where the food is reassuringly accomplihed with different weekly set menus of international recipes.

Babette is a private cookbook and spice shop that also serves lunch at a counter in the back.
