Montenegro is a place that cannot leave you indifferent

montenegro
Beauty, mild beaches, clear lakes, fast rivers and gorgeous mountains – like you can in the small Republic of Montenegro. This little country is part of the Balkans and part of the Mediterranean, near Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Italy and Albania. Despite its small size there are so many contrasts and so much natural beauty. The total length of the spectacular Montenegrin coastline is 290 kilometers, 73 km of which are sandy beaches. Some beaches are kilometers long or only a couple of tens of meters.

Till the May 2006 used to be two constituent states of the state union of Serbia and Montenegro. In 2006, Montenegro gained independence in the referendum. So union with Serbia was terminated.

Montenegro’s tourism had suffered greatly from unrests and wars in surrounding countries in the 1990s, as Balkans had been considered generally unsafe by tourists from the west. In recent years, along with the stabilized situation in the region, tourism in Montenegro began to recover, and Montenegro is being re-discovered by tourists from around the globe.

Montenegro offer a good mix of historical attractions and modern amenities, making it suitable for both business and leisure travelers. In particular, the coastline along the Adriatic was singled out as a good place to visit, due to its “dramatic” scenery and “beautiful” sandy beaches. Skadar Lake in Montenegro was featured in The Guardian’s Top 5 Freshwater Beach Holidays.

In recent travel supplement of Sunday Times, Montenegro is recommended among 20 style destinations for 2008. The world’s hottest trends, destinations, journeys and experiences – Lonely Planet Blue List 2008 recommends Montenegro:
“…Montenegro is perfect for those who want to explore independently and love the great outdoors in a compact size: hiking, mountaineering, rafting and swimming are within easy reach. And though Montenegro is touted as a summer destination, the winter is perfect for going up into Durmitor National Park, for skiing, snowboarding and, come springtime, rafting on the river Tara, inside Europe’s deepest canyon. “

I would like to know what language is most common. I would also like to know how much English is spoken. I am a stockbroker and would like to know more about the two stock exchanges there. I am very interested in visiting this beautiful place.
