Bishan Community Library

The Bishan Community Library is a new kind of library in Bishan Singapore. It was opened on 2 September 2006 and its location is perfect just behind Junction & Shopping Centre. The library serves the needs of several nearby schools such as catholic High School, Guangyang Secondary School, Kuo Chuan Presbyterian Secondary School, Ruffles Junior College and many more.

It was designed by Look Boon Gee, and have about 250,000 titles spread over four floors and a basement, with a Cafe Galilee in the first floor. Windows that protrude out of the building are actually reading “pods”, for readers who want to read quietly.

The location is easily accessible to residents of Bishan via the buses which ply to and fro Bishan Bus Interchange. But yoh have to walk a minute or two,to get there! It’s really creative place.
