Amnesia is one of several internationally renowned clubs in Ibiza and
was awarded Best Global Club in the 2007 International Dance Music Awards for 2006 at the Winter Music Conference in
Miami. The club is located close to the village of San Rafael on the highway between Sant Antoni de Portmany and
Ibiza Town and less than a kilometer apart from Privilege, both among the island’s most popular nightclubs. The club can pack more than 5,000 people on the dance floors. Like
Privilege, is famous for its sunrise dance floor.

While the previously open air venue was enclosed, Amnesia promoters lost the air of freedom but gained volume. All the successful promoters that inhabit it today have taken advantage of the ability of the sound system to fill every corner of the room with physical waves of sound. From the sonic innovations of Cocoon’s techno-tastic Monday nighter to the euphoric rushes of Cream, it’s music made to be felt as much as heard. Typically it’s housier on the terrace and more banging in the sala principal.

The inside Amnesia is renovated for 2008 and the terrace is a huge greenhouse with palm trees, many bars and a pleasantly air-conditioned VIP area which encircles the club on the upper floor. The protagonist, DJ Frankie Wilde, in the film
It’s All Gone Pete Tong plays gigs in scenes that take place at Amnesia.

Armin van Buuren recorded Universal Religion 2008: Live from Armada at Ibiza, from Amnesia on August 21, 2007. On the live element Armin says, “It adds to the feeling, the experience, so you can feel like you’re there, having a great time with your friends.” The unplanned set list became the perfect CD release: a spontaneous selection of records that embodies the timeless Balearic sound of Ibiza against the buzz of a crowd enjoying a world-renowned club.

The entries costs between €10 and € 55 ! The prices are not high for the tourists. The most people are there for the pleasure, the show and the unique sounds. The real fans of this music go in Amnesia and enjoy the style
of one of the AMAZING clubs in the whole world.
