Santa Fe, New Mexico

Santa Fe is a spectacular city in New Mexico, where light every day transfigures the earthen buildings, the lush cottonwood trees even the black top and cars. It is as if the light contains some special message.

For over a century the city have been a place of healing.After that the area become a focus of New Thought, of artists and thinkers who felt called to develop antidotes to the malaise of modern civilization. Urban-refugee hippies congregated in the ’60s.

Today the city is well-known as a center for arts that reflect the multi-cultural character of the city. Canyon Road east of the Plaza, has the highest concentration of art galleries in the city, and is a major destination for tourists and locals.

Santa Fe’s art market is the third largest in the United States, after New York and Los Angeles, and the Canyon Road galleries showcase a wide array of contemporary Southwestern, indigenous American, and experimental art, in addition to older Russian, Taos Masters, and Native American pieces. As well as there’re many outdoor sculptures, monuments, and several other holy figures, such as Kateri Tekakwitha.
