Nantes

Nantes is a beautiful city in the western France sitted just on the Loire River and 50km by car from the Atlantic coast. The city is the sixth largest in France. Nowadays Nantes has made a series of architectural conceptual and cosmetic changes that have transformed this city into amazing clean magnet for locals and visitors.

There’re some best places to explore this city. The first one is the newly polished Chateau des Hucs de Bretagne. A few steps away is the bridge, which reopened in February and contains a museum, a restaurant and an exhibition space. As well as Le Lieu Unique, a former bisuit factory is now home to an art exhibition space, a bar/cafe, a restaurant and shops.

For example this image displays an exhibition at Estuaire 2007. The event features contemporary art installations in Nantes and all the way down the Loire to the seaside town of St. Nazaire, about 40 miles away.

The downtown of Nantes, is filled with lovely French bars and cafes in the area called Le Bouffay. Nantes is the most important city of the historic province of Brittany, and culturally still remains strongly identified with it. The city’s name derives from the Nemnètes, a Gallic tribe who had settled there before the Romans conquered Gaul.
