Ljubljana, the capital of
Slovenia, is a dynamic Central European city lying at an altitude of 298 m above sea level in a broad basin between the
Alps and the
Adriatic Sea. A quaint, little, old town, a bustling city center, a medieval castle, and a metropolitan riverside cafe culture are just a small example of the things that give the city it’s beauty. Ljubljana is certainly a city with a high quality of life. It is a city of greenery, its very center occupied by parks and forests. The unique Karst region, the Adriatic coast, the mountains, the hilly wine-growing regions, the spas, and many historic towns are all within a two-hour drive.

Here, at the meeting point of the cultures of the east and the west, the old interlaces in harmony with the new. This is a picturesque blend of
Medieval, Baroque and Art Nouveau masterpieces combined with the original character given to the city by the famous architect Jože PleÄnik in the
Old Town with its medieval castle, Renaissance and Baroque facades, ornamented portals and uneven roofs.

Once an important transport and supply route, the
Ljubljanica river with its interesting bridges and picturesque embankments now makes one of the old city center’s major landmarks. For a special city experience, you may choose to see Ljubljana from the deck of a boat, the window of a tourist train, the back of a bicycle or the basket of a hot air balloon. To discover the city’s secret, you may want to join the
Dragon Code adventure tour.
Ljubljana is a city of culture, home of many theaters,
museums and galleries and it also boasts
one of the oldest philharmonic academy in the world. More then 10,000 cultural
events take place in the Slovene capital – top quality musical, theatrer and fine arts performers as well as alternative and avant-garde performers – which can be discovered in 14 international festivals.
