FieraMilano is a large-scale exhibition center located in the Milan metropolitan area in the town of Rho, Italy. It opened in 2005 and ranks at the top of the international trade fair sector in terms of size, functional features and building quality. Designed by Massimiliano Fuksas and completed in little more than two years at a cost of €755 mln, the new Fiera Мilano exhibition center covers a surface area of 2 million sq m, and is the largest of its kind in Italy and in Europe.
Fiera Milano is a dynamic infrastructure operating with a large spectrum of activity, starting with the Milan fair system, towards the economic development of the territory, in the interests of the community. Eight huge pavilions with a gross surface area of 345,000 sq m for indoor exhibitions and 60,000 sq m for outdoor exhibitions; excellent facilities; cutting edge technology; 14,000 parking spaces and Milan underground, which carries visitors right into the complex. This is Fiera Milano, the brand new large-scale exhibition center that ranks at the top of the international trade fair sector in terms of size, functional features and building quality.
Fiera Milano is spearheading a project that will lead to the construction of one of the world’s largest and most innovative exhibition systems within the next few years and that is set to revolutionize the geographic, social and particularly economic borders of north-west Milan and of the Lombardy region. The world prize for architectural excellence, the 2006 ULI Global Award, was awarded to the new Fiera Milano Exhibition Center, created by the Fondazione Fiera Milano through its’ subsidiary Sviluppo Sistema Fiera.
