A lot of stars of the lane of the aura
One of the most popular places to visit when you’re in Southern California is the Hollywood Stars on Hollywood Boulevard. Also known as the Hollywood Walk of Fame, this historic mile-long strip of sidewalk is studded with pink stars emblazoned with brass letter with the names of famous entertainers in television, motion pictures, music, radio, and theatre. A tribute to over 2000 artists who have made significant contributions to film, radio, television, theatre and the recording industries. The first star placed on 9th February. 1960, was for Joanne Woodward. One of Hollywood’s most popular tourist attractions, the Walk of Fame lies on both sides of Hollywood Blvd. from Gower to La Brea, both sides of Vine Street and from Yucca to Sunset. The decision is made by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce celebrities had to fit into one of the categories and pay $ 7,500 to get their names walked on by the public.

There are over 2,000 bronze-inlaid stars at this top California attraction, with famous names such as James Dean, Greta Garbo, Marilyn Monroe and newer stars as well.
The Walk of Fame was created in 1958 by southern Californian artist Oliver Weismuller, who was hired by the city to give Hollywood a “face lift”. Many honorees received multiple stars during the initial phase of installation for contributions to separate categories; however, the practice in recent decades has been to honor individuals not yet represented, with only a handful of previous honorees being awarded additional stars. In 1978, the City of Los Angeles designated the Walk of Fame as a Cultural/Historic Landmark.
Here is a partial list of the stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. There’s no way that we can possibly list the locations of all 2000 “stars” on the Walk of Fame, but you’ll discover that part of the fun is trying to spot them for yourself as you walk along the Boulevard. Right below the name of each celebrity on the five-pointed stars is a small, round emblem which illustrates the celebrity’s category, with one of five symbols: a motion picture camera (for movie stars & directors), a television set (for those in the television industry), a phonograph record (for singers, songwriters, and recording artists), a radio microphone (for radio luminaries), and the twin theatrical masks of comedy & tragedy (for live stage performers).

Walk of Fame Chairman Johnny Grant commented, “It’s a privilege to honor these performers, and I’m sure their fans and supporters will enjoy attending the induction ceremonies on Hollywood Boulevard”. Pop singer Britney Spears poses for photographers during an unveiling ceremony honoring Spears with the 2,242nd star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, in Los Angeles, California November 17, 2003. On April 4, 2007, Halle Berry was honored and became the 2,333rd star on the walk.
For “Mission Impossible” and Tom Cruise fanatics, dash right across the road from Mann’s and walk towards the shops on the left. Outside the last one you will find Tom Cruise’s Star panel on the floor! Alternatively, watch out for people queueing near some strange spot… that’s probably Cruise’s spot! Sting, Johnny Depp and Madonna.
