Delmar Greenwich Harbor is the newest, and hands down the most opulent, waterfront lodging on the Gold Coast is a favorite among visiting celebs, moneyed locals, and those just practicing the art of living well. The Delmar is a luxurious hotel styled after a posh Mediterranean villa and is situated right on the Greenwich Harbor and its 600 feet of private dock can accommodate yachts up to 160 feet.
After ‘oohing’ and ‘ahhing’ over the water view from the private wrought iron balcony, we got down to a serious exploration of the accommodations. The 83 guest rooms have Italian linens and hand-painted armories which are home to the latest technology, stocked with flat screen television and CD and DVD players. Many suites boast Jacuzzi tubs, fire places, and private balconies with view of the harbor. Restaurant serves sophisticated Provencal cuisine, with an emphasis on fresh, local seafood. The nicest touch is the thoughtful extras from complimentary espresso and cappuccino in the library. Both hotel and restaurant keep attentive yet unobtrusive staffs on hand to cater to the guests’ every need. Close to Manhattan yet worlds away, the Delmar is a must.
