The Caribbean’s premier yacht races

This is one of the most popular events on the British Virgin Islands’ social calendar, and is a chance for the whole community to come together in a week of races and entertainment. The event usually kicks off on the Monday evening with a welcome party at Nanny Cay Marina where registration for the Sailing Festival takes place. Three days of destination cruising and racing follows before the main three-day regatta properly gets underway on the Friday. The first BVI Spring Regatta took place in 1972 and remains an integral part of island life.

Before, during and after the races the Regatta village at the Nanny Cay Marina takes on a carnival-like atmosphere with food, drinks, games, dancing, and other forms of entertainment for landlubbers and yachtsmen who converge to eat, drink and make merry. Racing enthusiasts who have experienced the BVI Spring Regatta return year after year and they all agree that you have not sailed until you sail the waters of the BVI.
