Surrounded by the third largest coral reef system in the world, the Turks and Caicos archipelago is a haven for marine life, birds, flora and fauna. Amanresorts’ first foray in the Caribbean brings its signature style of uber-luxury to a fantasy island setting. Amanyara Spa therapists are trained to help create a personal program of yoga, meditation, massage and appropriate selection of essential treatments. Delicious natural and organic foods are prepared with care and respect for a balanced nutritional regimen.The resort is composed of a series of pavilions, each of which blends into the lush green landscape, with a choice of either pond or ocean view. The restaurant, library, lobby and boutique surround a stunning water feature. While the crowning glory is a majestic circular bar reaching high into the sky, where you can lie back and enjoy a cooling drink. Each villa also comes with its own separate kitchen, laundry room and two staff bedrooms. It also comes with an Amam Resorts trained staff of cook and housekeeper and can generate rental income through inclusion in the overall resort rental pool. There are also two flood-lit clay tennis courts. Tennis racquet’s, balls and shoes are provided and lessons or hitting partners are available.
All 40 timber shingled pavilions are identical in layout and design. Ocean Pavilions are located along the oceanfront, elevated approximately 15-20 feet above the waterline, with pathways leading to the rock formations above the sea. An overhanging roof line creates shaded outdoor areas on the pavilions’ three terraces. Pavilions incorporate a simple palette of materials and colors: the floor is a sand-polished terrazzo with teak inlays and sisal matting is used in the bathrooms, which feature freestanding ottomans with adjacent ottomans, twin vanities, shower rooms and separate toilets.
The Swimming Pool is located within an expansive terrace that provides uninterrupted views of the ocean. A third lounge pavilion is located beyond the pool and closer to the oceanfront. Pairs of sun loungers are positioned along the timber deck and an outdoor shower is provided. Amanyara has a team of skilled therapists providing massages and body treatments for guests in the privacy of their pavilion. There are also beauty treatments available, including facials, manicures and pedicures.The remote location ensures that the beautiful white, sandy beaches are almost exclusively for guests at the hotel, where sailing, kayaking and snorkeling trips are all complimentary.
Snorkeling can be enjoyed from the beach and around the rocks at Amanyara. The sandy bottom declines gradually until the reef wall falls away dramatically with its sheer vertical drop to 2,100m. Rock formations surrounding the resort are home to many small fish and good snorkeling is found in these shallow waters.
