Feel as if you’re the royalty of this island

This place is special with its secluded location, overwhelming natural beauty, and coddling staff, it has everything you want from a trip to the Fijian islands. The eight regular bures, the local version of cottages, are decorated with a relaxed blend of natural woods, bamboo wall coverings, and elements of high design such as Tibetan rugs. The Governor’s bure is even better: 1,850 square feet with its own private garden, Asian antiques, and a Jacuzzi. The Wakaya Resort bures each have a living room, separate bedroom (with a romantic four-post king size bed) and a bathroom complete with glass-enclosed shower, over-sized bath tub, three sinks and bidet.
Breeze Couples Spa at the Wakaya Club offers a range of services and treatments that include the signature, 80-minute “East meets West” couples massage, which can be performed in the privacy of your bure. For the ultimate indulgence, there’s a Tini La Niga (ten-hand massage), where five masseuses work on one body in tandem. Or float peacefully at Wakaya Club during a water shiatsu massage in a body-temperature pool.
Meals are served wherever and whenever guests so desire, and dinner can be taken in a grand open-sided dining room under a 60-foot cathedral ceiling. Breakfast and Lunch is served on the deck overlooking the lagoon, in the Palm Grove Restaurant, or in your bure. The sound of drums signals that lunch is ready, and you can savor it in your Wakaya Club bure, on the deck above the lagoon, or the Palm Grove restaurant. Dinner is served in the Palm Grove Restaurant. The Wakaya Club specializes in Pacific Rim cuisine inspired by the island’s plentiful resources. In addition, Wakaya has a Visiting Chef program that brings highly acclaimed talent into the Wakaya kitchen including Nobu Matsuhisa, Charlie Trotter & Grant McPhearson amongst others.
The best things on Wakaya Island are the private beaches. They’re actually coves and no one else can see you, so you can do as you wish for as long as you want. They also bring a lovely meal, will cook it for you before they leave and give you whatever you want to drink. They’ll bring snorkeling gear and sun hats and whatever you want. Scuba diving and snorkeling reveal the amazing underwater life beneath the waters surrounding the Fijian Islands. At Wakaya Club there is also tennis and golf — and since the entire island resort only welcomes a maximum of 24 people at a time, there is never a wait to play. For those who take their relaxation seriously, there’s a hammock at each Wakaya Club bure.

The Wakaya Club has received the Island Hideaway of the Year Award from Andrew Harper’s “Hideaway Report”, and was selected by Traveler as among the top 25 destination resorts in the world. The mission of this resort is to deliver to guests, Charm, Comfort, Courtesy, Cuisine and Consistency in all.
