Many words had been used to describe La Digue island - beautiful, exotic, amazing, fascinating, gorgeous, wonderful, unspoiled island etc – but see for yourself and choose. Bicycles can be the tourist easy transport to the more difficult to reach places. The taxis are only twenty cars on the island. As the track turns to sand, abandon your bicycles and walk the remaining few yards to one of the most beautiful beaches on earth. La Digue is one of the smaller islands of the Seychelles and third most populated of the islands with over 2,000 inhabitants.
La Digue is surrounded by beautiful white sand beaches, spectacular coves where one can find deserted beaches with no other tourists beside yourself. The Island’s shores are the perfect place for taking snorkeling lessons or enjoying sports that you are already familiar with.
The pink granite rock formations on La Digue are the most spectacular in Seychelles. The Seychelles archipelago is the only mid oceanic granitic islands in the world. Geologists believe the islands were formed 150 million years ago. One of the main attractions on La Digue is rock climbing. The island has no natural harbour and is protected by the coral reefs which circle it, together with masses of pink granite rocks which seem to have exploded around the coastline.
Wide deserted beaches are perfect for long walks, safe swimming, snorkeling and fishing. In the woods of La Digue can be found the rare black paradise flycatcher.

On the island is a wonderful small church, called “The Lady of our Assumption”, which is about to celebrate its first century. It is located not far from the Port. Old house in a residential area of La Digue, a fine example of colonial wooden architecture. These old houses are slowly disappearing , being replaced by modern concrete houses. The Lodge is the main Hotel on La Digue composed of 60 rooms with a wide choice of accommodation ranging from standard rooms to chalets and suites.

The life style is slow and relaxed, there are no problems or stress here, so just put your feet up, lie back and relax, life can be so wonderful.
