I visited there last year. It was awesome. The country is beautiful and the castle was in excellent condition. Definitely a go-see place to visit. Also Sighisoara was very nice and fun.

I’m interested in the government’s plans for the castle. It should definitely be preserved, under all circumstances, as the historical treasure it is.

As a fan of both the fictional Dracula and the historical Vlad, I’d rather see the real history of places like this preserved rather than being advertised as tacky vampire-themed tourist attractions. You can put a vampire theme park anywhere, but places like Bran Castle, Poenari Castle and the town of Sighisoara are one of a kind, and have deeper and richer stories than most people know.

…Dracula, Vlad III, Vlad the Impaler or Vlad ?epe?, was an actual monarch, who had sons. Yes, he was merely the namesake of the infamous character from Bram Stoker’s novel, but he was an actual person, none the less.

However, as his sons died early, I’d like proof that user you’re replying to is in fact, a descendant of Dracula. As, even if they are a descendant of one of Dracula’s relatives, there’s the whole dilemma involving Eastern and Central-European royalty (and their offspring) staying alive with disease and warfare (between themselves, each other and the Ottoman Empire), among other things.

So, I find it more than highly unlikely that any true descendants of Vlad ?epe? actually exist, the fact that Vlad himself actually existed has been proven many times over.

History, it’s how we got here.

(Wikipedia helps too, for those who have yet to graduate high school. )

Disney would depreciate this castle of what it stands for. Little kids yet best believe monsters aren’t real. If little kids were so acustomed to Vlads brutality they wouldn’t get much sleep for a while. What Vlad accomplished is beyond all of our imaginations. Unless some of you are ruthless murderers.

Interesting listening to what you guys speak of vladimire like. Almost like you don’t know how much he has done. A good guy nails a hat to someone’s head? Vlad had people on spikes as far as the eye can see. A massive forest of wrotting dead people. His brutality is why he’s so known. Ovidiunchita knows much, he didn’t think twice about his victims. You slightly offend him you have no idea what he will do, but you won’t like it.
