The world’s largest casino isn’t in Monaco, or Las Vegas. It’s right here in New
England,in Mashantucket, Connecticut and is open daily 24 hours. Foxwoods Resort Casino just celebrated its 14th year in 2006. With his 340000 square foots the casino offering more than 7400 slot machines, as well as a bingo room, keno.

Highlights of the resort’s 27 globe-spanning restaurants include gourmet dining at the Grand Pequot Tower’s Paragon, which features a Continental menu, and Al Dente, which serves southern and northern Italian dishes. Plus, a Foxwoods getaway puts you in the heart of southeastern Connecticut, close to dozens of other nearby restaurants, attractions and outdoor activities. After-hours sports activities center on championship golf. The year 2005 saw the grand opening of Lake of Isles, a Troon Golf club with two Rees Jones–designed 18-hole championship courses: the private South Course, available to members only, and the public North Course, available to resort guests and recognized by Travel & Leisure Golfas New England’s best new course. Golfers play around and over a scenic 90-acre lake.
Entertainment seekers need look no further than the resort’s Theatre District, which features the Fox Theatre, Foxwoods Arena, Club BB King, Hard Rock Cafe Foxwoods, and the Tree House—a two-story video, flight-simulator, and redemption-game arcade. The Theatre District stages everything from major concerts and Broadway shows to championship boxing matches. In 2005, Foxwoods launched a $700-million project to add nearly 2 million square feet of amenities, among them a fourth hotel, 115,000 square feet of meeting space, and a 4,000-seat multipurpose theater. The project’s immensity simply underlines the resort’s signature slogan, “The Wonder of It Allâ€.
